I Love South Korea

With the recent news about
Choi Jin-ri's death, it wakes me up on how bad the entertainment industry can be in my country. Innocence and perfection is expected at every second.

This causes a following and the bigger the following, the bigger online hate will become.

To choose the path of being famous in Korea is very difficult. In the US, an actor/actress can do whatever they want and still retain their status. Not so in Korea. Image is everything.

I respect and love what each one does because it's not easy but to hate in the name of "fanbase" and throw hateful things because of "rivalry" is too much sometimes.

It's why I don't get involved with Kpop forums. Too much hatred, mostly from outside, that can really get to them.

Mina is another example of this. I love how popular we are but I hate how little people cant recognize what our idols do on a daily basis.

I'm sorry if what I say might disturbing. From what I see Korea entertainment industry really worse. Not to mention those netizens. They must be endured so much insults, bad diet, training to impress the fans.

I heard she made controversy before but to me it just normal. I don't why those netizens make it so big.
She would live by now she is in the US. She was talented though.

@SW-User Yes. It's the pursuit of perfection. I know our industry is bad in many ways but it's what brought SK out of being a 3rd world country. We depend on it despite it's faults.

The netizens do not understand what life is really like for these idols. Thousands of people come to SK dreaming to be a Kpop star but very few are chosen.

She probably would still be alive but at the same time, the press would be much harsher on her in the US compared to SK.
