I Believe In Karma
Angel Trucker... I was 19yr old at the time one of my really good friends asked me to help her move. I did not have a cell phone at that time and was relying on hand-written, turn-by-turn directions, to take me the 60mi or so to my friend's house.
After a series of calls from several payphones along I5, getting varying directions from several different people, who got me so mixed up, I ended up 100's of miles away from both my home and my destination. I was lost, alone, scared and completely vulnerable... Plus.... I RAN OUT OF GAS AND HAD NO MONEY!!! I can only imagine how distraught I looked to the two truckers in the gas station, when I asked them, eyes full of tears, if they knew where I was...
THANK YOU TO THE RANDOM TRUCKER WHO FILLED UP MY GAS TANK!!!
I think about the $10 you gave to me and the concerned look in your eyes as you handed it to the man behind the counter and told him to put it in my tank, without saying a word to me! For the past 14yrs, I have looked for you in every big-rig on the freeway. I still look for you in almost every one I pass... I wish I would have at least gotten your name... I just call him "The Angel Trucker"
Things like this happen to me all the time! Karma, its giving without an ulterior motive and allowing the goodwill to make its way back... Most people don't realize that they get back what they put out into the world.
