I Am A Real Werewolf

The Shift as Transition, Not a Process

Something I wrote shortly after waking up:
"The same way therians treat the mental shift as a process, we tend to treat the physical shift as a process. Therians see a barrier between the human mind and their theriotypical mind. For them, the transition is a process that requires focus. For us, however, it is simply something we switch in and out of at random without thought. It is a transition, but there is no process. The more we practice this transition, the less difficult it becomes. Our minds become amorphous instead of dichotomous. The same thing, I would argue, can be said for the physical shift. An inexperienced shifter requires more concentration and a defined process in order to transition between human and non-human. However, just like any exercise, it becomes easier with practice. The ideal end is that the shift becomes a transition without process, allowing the shifter to switch between forms as fluidly and easily as we switch between mindsets. The same way a cheetah doesn't need to stretch before running because of its tolerance for running, we should ultimately be able to transform through a nearly-instantaneous energetic shift called upon as naturally and easily as any other physical ability."

Just food for thought.

you should be ashamed... i know wolves that are real and they'd feel as if all is lost with things such as yourself mocking their existence not understanding the entirety of their life among the living of earth.

wolves are incredible creatures.... they are our betters and for you to do this?

what is it?

@sighmeupforthat I'm not sure what you're talking about, but you know nothing about me.

Perception will Trap you in, will waste your time in endless mindless wasted life, the body is deceptive, your mind is deceptive. ...
Then alder and hopefully wiser will prevail

@SoFine Perception is all we have, but it is important to self-analyze and find where your conceptions of reality might be a barrier to change.

@JTMarcus Replying to a well-constructed musing with an emoji. Top-notch.

@JTMarcus Unfounded insults. That certainly makes you seem more mature. If you're going to bother to come here and comment, you could provide some constructive criticism.

There are many things that can trap or inhibit someone.
Just as there are many things that can enable and free someone.
Drachona · 31-35, M
@wolfess I find that belief and doubt are the greatest barriers.
True that. Therians mostly meditate to m-shift but I don't need to. I don't even really see it as a shift.

@icouldntthinkofagooduser For some therians, many things are more ritualistic. Something as simple as howling became an intense, focused experience. Whereas, for wolves, it's just a form of communication. It's not a ritual. That is a human tendency; to place greater meaning on everything.
@Drachona
Yep. It might be just me but it's like therians put way more value in howling, growling etcetera.
