I Like a Good Quote

Doctors are men, who prescribe medicines of which they know little, to cure diseases of which they know less, for men, of whom they know nothing at all. ......
This is so true.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
That is less true today then when the original statement was made. There is a lot unknown, but no one would want to go back to those days. There may be physicians who use medications that they should not, because the do not understand them or their side effects. Unfortunately the big pharmaceutical companies and their media ads push the issues. The patients often arrive at a physician's office demanding a specific medication. Most physicians feel they don't have the time to spend explsingomg the medication and simply write the prescription.
@samueltyler2 sometimes Few doctors just Do not mentioned generic medicine in their prescription ... Only Because of profit .. anyways... You knew better than me..

Thanks for posting ...

@valobasa4ever in most states, the pharmacy must dispense a generic, if available. Only when the physician says brand name only can that occur. Some insurance plans will control the prescription further.

Actually, it would appear that you "like" a good man bash quote. Sadly, one more dumb ass Similar Worlds post by someone who didn't receive enough attention from their father.
We get it....I"m sorry obviously, but we get it.

@Freeranger her quotation is really a classic one, it bashes all physicians. The "men" was a generic term at the time, meaning humans.

Doctors are men who prescribe medicines of which they know little, to cure diseases of which they know less, in human beings of whom they know nothing. Voltaire (1694-1778).
@Freeranger Oh Boy !!! ;-)
Speechless..
@samueltyler2 👍️ 😌

This rings a bell with me. My specialist wanted to give me medication for my arthritis BUT he said it can cause blood clots. I left that prescription on his desk. 🤨
@Degbeme [c=#800055]Wish You're doing well nowadays. [/c]

@valobasa4ever About the same. But nothing I really can`t live with.
tryingtobeamazing
brilliant. whether man or woman, doctors are almost universally brainwashed by pharmaceutical companies who see us as life long customers, not as humans in need of relief.

I am going to become doctor 🙃
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@AngelKrish good for you, it is a noble profession, it requires lots of training and then practice to get it right. It also, often, requires great personal sacrifice. Depending on where you live band what branch of medicine, you may not be ready to practice until most of your age peers are well into their careers. I can tell you, looking back on a career of nearly 50 years, it was worth it!
AngelKrish · 26-30, M
@samueltyler2 True! Its damn true! This is reason i choosen this profession!
