I Think Kids Are The Most Valued Assets In Our Lives
Our Children are our treasures on earth ,don't wait until its to late to get your priorities in line ,they learn whats important from us .
Our Children are our futures (or more like our last days are in their hands )
Raise them to care about more than themselves .
If you are a hot head and quick to anger ,life is all about you ,and you always have to win ,no one is right except you ,you deal with others rudely and with arrogance ,no one is entitled to an opinion that is not the same as yours ,
thats more than likely how your children will come out too .And they will show you the respect you have shown to others .
Opinionated ,and a self centered ,self indulgent ,intolerant of others and other cultures and races ,over inflated ego's .
and no one is born a bigot ,they learn it somewhere .
So show them compassion for others ,patience ,care and respect for your elders ,
and when your old ,they might just still care about you (and your wellbeing )
Show them love and respect ,teach them manners and respect
And maybe when your old ,
They won't treat you like a know nothing child ,they will still love and respect you ,even value your opinion .they are learning by watching you .
Show them they are important to you ,and when you need them ,you will be important to them
even when you think you are no longer important to anyone else .
(but spoil them ,and they will cuss you when you won't give them your last dime from your social security check ,they will only worry about their wants and take the little you have too .
Sell your home you scrimped and saved for and put you in a nursing home .
And things that hold sentimental value to you ,won't mean a thing to them .
Things my Grandfathers and my Dad held on to forever ,my brothers sold for scrap .
Don't push them until they hate the things you would like for them to know ,
If its not life or death ,let them make choices ,one day you will want them to know how to think for themselves and make the right choices ,guide them ,but let them make some choices .
and if you did it right ,they might just make the right ones . LOL
And just maybe understand some of the things that are important to you .
Show them ,explain to them why you put value in the things you do .
And forgive others that have wronged you ,or you will teach them to hold on to resentment too .
Mom and Dad never forgave their parents and siblings ,I guess its Ok for me to hate mine too
Instill in them a sense of purpose ,a moral compass ,to know there is a right and wrong and our actions do have consequences ,
some may not be immediate ,but eventually we reap what we sow somewhere down the line (maybe when what you have done to others ,is now done to you )
They may not get the things your trying to instill in them right then ,
but you planted the seed ,now let it grow .
Then lead by example ,practice what you preach ,
And one day they just might value the same things you do .and make you proud
You reap what you sow ,and a garden grows best when its tended to .
From my experience ,and a little sound advice from God
like a prize flower garden or the best vegetables on the planet
The end result depends on how much time you invest in your garden
