I Love to Learn
Right now, I have three teachers in my life who teach me more than I ask them for - Michael, Robin, and David, in no particular order.
Michael and Robin consider me "family" and are teaching me my German at my request as a friendly sideline. We all have a relationship of long standing which dates back to EP, and share everything we can think of.
David is a latecomer, who I met in moving to Bon Villa Apartments (Oak Park, Il.) He is a quiet gentleman who I consider my prince and a wonderful teacher in many ways. He has taught me how to fix things and shift for myself when necessary. I had to learn the hard way NOT to say "I need" in front of him, because he has brought home milk and bread at various times, also paper goods. He waits with me for the delivery girl from Pete's Market and helps me take everything upstairs to my door (last week, he even paid her the tip for delivery). He takes out my out mail and brings packages from the closet downstairs (I have done the same for him). He takes out my trash, my recycables and bags from Pete's (which he returns). Sunday night I left all these at my front door and Monday everything was gone again. He shows me how to judiciously shop on the Internet and fixes my PC when necessary.
We have become good friends in only four months, and he looks after me as only a downstairs neighbor can do for another resident.
