Did you know the Sun "seems" to stop/stay still/pauses for three days every year?
On Dec 22nd, 23rd, and the 24th, the Sun rises on the same latitude.
This means that the Sun no longer travels southward, but stops/pause and turns northward again.
This is called the Solstice.
A Latin word meaning.. Sol for Sun and Sistere for stop/stand still..
Then on the 25th, the Sun moves one degree northward and begins it's annual journey.
It's not the Sun itself moving, of course, but the Earth moving relative to the Sun.
While I was reading, I found this... kinda cool.
