@Virgo79 Never try to clean a loaded gun! First you have to unload the gun. If the magazine is removeable, remove it. If not removeable, like with a pump-action, lever-action or a revolver, make sure all shells have been removed. Next, and most important of all, check the chamber to be sure it is empty. The number one way accidents happen while cleaning a gun is there is round (shell) in the chamber.
If you don't know how to clean a gun, take a class, or at least have a knowledgeable person show you how. Check YouTube for videos on how to safely clean a gun.

@Powderflask Stock 10/22s are great . They make a “ take down “ version that collapses in half for campers or hikers ... but not quite as accurate

@TexChik I know, the local gun shop had a $130 difference between a standard carbine and a "take down model" I never compared accuracy I just wasn't willing to pay more. I don't need a folding gun

Mine stays clean
Powderflask · 31-35, M
@MarineBob yeah my mistake was not cleaning it first. I clean them AFTER I shoot but this was my first second hand gun.

That's a fact
