Back in the early '90s, an SKS went for less than $100. Now they're four or five times that.

@Powderflask Back in the 1960s, my dad bought a numbers matching (including magazine) .303 Lee Enfield No. 4 Mk 1 for $15, including 100 rounds of ammunition. It had been factory totally rebuilt, with a mint bore five groove barrel.

@Powderflask And, American firearms from the Civilian Marksmanship Program went for a fraction of what they sell for today, i.e., a surplus 1911 .45 for $20, an M1 carbine for $30.
