I Have Something to Say

You bought me a gift; and for hours; days; weeks; months on end, I invested my time in it. But then you left... and I couldn't tell whether it's spite or sorrow that stops me from even opening it again after all these years.

And only recently... What I have come to realise is that it was a gift, intended to make me happy at the time it was received, something to remember you by, something to treasure.

This gift... is the only lasting memory I have of you, and every enjoyable moment I live with it from here on out is going to have those solemn raindrops or sorrow splashing in the background.

I hear your plight! I too cherish my memories. We all hold on to memories we feel bring us even a moment of HAPPY. Try looking on the brighter side and realize that instead it was a memory you were gifted. If words had been cruel you wouldn't want to hold it. Thus, your job is only to let go. You will always hold the memories. Simply know THIS is you passage to the main roads you will travel. Let your memories be your guide. It is time now to recreate a future. Do not rush it. Take it slow. Become the person you want others to see.
