Texas looking to mandate the national anthem at publicly funded events

What do ya'll think? First amendment violation or no?

Seems like it is. But it's only at publically funded ones so I dunno.

Funny that they pretend to be for personal freedoms but then do this kind of shit.

Texas needs to relax. They have a lot bigger issues on their hands than whether or not some obese rednecks drunkenly yell their worship chant of unending devotion to a country who doesn't care enough about them to supply them with healthcare at their sons' little league baseball game.

@BigAssLeech damn lmao. Played.

@BigAssLeech sorry but socialists arent the only Americans that vote
BigAssLeech · 31-35, M
@TexChik Exactly, you can't explain it in a way that makes sense outside of conditioned bootlicking.

Seems like a waste of good time that they could be using to figure out a more reliable power grid.

Don’t see why it’s necessary but after what happened with the winter storm, it’s clear where their priorities lie. :(

@MalteseFalconPunch It sounds like it is. I don’t think it’s a first amendment violation even if I may not like it.

Well within their rights as a government if it's only for publicly funded events, but still a dumb and nationalistic regulation that only got passed because their cuck legislators were too cowardly to stand up to it. 🙄

It's not a first ammendment thing to play the national anthem. It would be if they made you sing it.

Right now Texas loves the United States......they're shipping them money to get past the last storm. By next week when they'll forget the free money and how much they loved that and they'll be voting to succeed again.

Not really since it is only public funded events. Just ignorant circle jerking when your state can't even keep the lights on. Priorities.

@MalteseFalconPunch If you can give me a reasonable answer on why sports teams are publicly funded please do because I can't find one. They make diagusting amounts of money providing the most trivial product imaginable.
