OMG! I hope this teenager is okay, and that brute

goes to jail!

* The comments on here are disgusting in their lack of humanity. I’m sorry to say that SW has attracted a lot of hateful and cold hearted people recently. I shake my head in dismay and disgust at those who think it’s okay to throw around an unconscious person like a rag doll. What a lack of decency and basic humanity our modern world has created. Shame on you!*

that is a ridiculous amount of force to use. its kind of ironic because there is a bunch of older women in the background not wearing masks either
@NoahB lol. When you are seated and eating /drinking you dont have to wear a mask.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@NoahB One at a time, man. Good thing here in Venice we use the lagoon to give these people a rinse with reality.
NoahB · 26-30, M
@PepsiColaP yeah thats the standard but i always felt it was strange rule. its effectively the same as just not wearing a mask at all
Miram · 31-35, F
@NoahB @PepsiColaP @Elessar You all need to check official news.

The title of the video is a lie. They didn't do that to him because he wasn't wearing a mask.
NoahB · 26-30, M
@Miram could u save me the google search and enlighten me plz?
@Miram I did read the article. And what he did was disgusting regardless added by the fact that he doesnt seem to be wearing a mask
Elessar · 26-30, M
@NoahB That exemption is simply because the alternative would be shutting down any place where food or beverages are consumed. It's a compromise solution, and yeah, in such places your risk is way higher than, say, the average office.
Miram · 31-35, F
@NoahB
Hotel management said the teenager was kicked out of the venue for being too rowdy but climbed a fence to get back in to his mates.

When security noticed they shepherded him out - but the teen broke free, ran straight back to the bar and poured himself a schooner.

That’s when the situation escalated.
@PepsiColaP again, he is not going to wear one while drinking. Just notice how other clients aren't.
@Miram but he is not a client. This is literally someone breaking in an establishment in which they have repeatedly been refused service due to their behaviour. And he insisted on acting like nothing and no one is above him
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Miram He was accompanied out *twice*, and after that he came back inside and literally poured himself stuff (that he probably wouldn't even pay?). Yeah, that's what tend to happens.
NoahB · 26-30, M
@Miram lol this makes way more sense. I thought it was odd they used this much force. speaking from personal experience anti-mask folks are treated with an absurd level of patience by the staff
@NoahB tell me about it. I'm honestly sick and tired of the way we have been treated by customers returning to work after covid in the customer care sector. I honestly would have liked for the business I work for to have security members like such. Maybe they would respect us more and not treat us like shit in their shoes just because we have to make sure they behave like adults
Miram · 31-35, F
@NoahB Yeah, the title is just propaganda to sway people into thinking anti-mask stances stem from victimazation.

But still what they did to him borders on illegal and there is police investigation going on. Throwing a person after they are unconscious like that on the floor is extremely questionable. And I don't get how anyone would defend it

To me it is just like how people defend shooting african americans because they done something illegal.
NoahB · 26-30, M
@Miram yeah def. i don't like obnoxious teens either but that doesn't mean its okay for some fatso to choke them out
@Miram it truly isnt the same thing. Shooting a person based on their race it's a crime of hate. Chokeholding someone who repeatedly disrespected your operations is doing your job. Surely he hadn't had to toss him out like that once he was unconscious and I do not agree with that and never said I did either so please do not assume so either.
Miram · 31-35, F
@PepsiColaP

Sure it's not the same to you. You can pick whatever other distinctions to be biased.
NoahB · 26-30, M
@Miram its wrong but it absolutely is not the same. the police have a ton of legal protections unlike that employee and that teenager is probably not going to die or be fatally wounded.
Miram · 31-35, F
@NoahB

Head injuries, or any other injuries, can't be evaluated through a few seconds vid. Lot of them take days to weeks to have complications btw.

My words are being repeatedly twisted in this website. I am beginning to doubt the purpose discussing anything here.

I said
To me it is just like how people defend shooting african americans because they done something illegal.
That doesn't mean everything in this instance is exactly like a crime committed by a police officer against an african american suspect.

I said the DEFENDING is the exact same TO ME. Why? It moved the discourse from valuing a human life to devaluing it by creating exceptions based on seemingly rational grounds.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Miram Yeah, not justifying the violence. As you said, police is investigating it, as it should be.

On the other hand, one thing is being a passive victim of violence simply because you're protesting (peacefully) and someone is annoyed by it, one thing is exasperating people by acting like a moron until they react. Both are to condemn, but the latter was at least preventable in the first place.
Miram · 31-35, F
@Elessar

Rightists don't use this kind of reasoning just for peaceful protesters, they use it for , like I already mentioned, those who are suspects of crimes and they do have verbal exchanges. None of which matter.

There are no justification and shouldn't be. No point in creating exceptions.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Miram Rightists accuses of crimes (or things they perceive as crimes), or generally make up reasons to raise suspicion about anyone they don't like, including also people who protest peacefully.

Miram · 31-35, F
@Elessar This is not the first time I see that and it still breaks my heart.
NoahB · 26-30, M
@Miram not trying to twist your words. just don't think its good to equivocate the severity of a misdeed carried out by some bowling alley employee (or whatever this guy was) to the same standards as an agent of the state (police). but i think its kind of getting in the weeds now so i'll drop it
Miram · 31-35, F
@NoahB

There isn't much details to it. I didn't equivocate the severity.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
What if he is mentally ill? Even if not, call the police. You know very well if he had a different skin color, this would be world wide headlines, just like George Floyd. Whatever race he is, it doesn’t matter, this is not how you handle a disruptive person. @PepsiColaP
