I Have Something to Say

I recently received the news that my friend Lisa had passed away. Some would say that Lisa led an unremarkable life and, in many mundane ways, she did. Lisa was the only child of older parents. She was a teacher at one time. Lisa became a paraplegic after an automobile accident. She also developed a very severe form of macromastia that increasingly compromised her health. Doctors had no explanation as to what triggered the macro as it is extremely unusual for an older woman to manifest the disorder.

I came to know Lisa through the kindly family that took her in and cared for her health and social needs. Lisa and I had hours of online discussions and we came to know each other quite well although we never met face-to-face. We laughed and cried together and we prayed for each other. Although she had many reasons to complain, she never ceased to encourage and inspire me. I can truthfully say that I am a better and more compassionate person for knowing Lisa.

I want to mention Lisa in this forum because, in a world of so much discouragement, she was a singular soul who epitomized courage and long suffering.

Now Lisa's days of pain have ended. I pray that she enjoys her just reward for a life well-lived as she basks in the glory of the magnificent face of God. Lisa was only in her 30s and she is survived by her parents, and the fortunate friends who knew her.

I am sorry for the loss of your friend. I lost an online friend a month ago. So I can feel your pain. I am glad you had good times and were inspired. May the memory of her stay fresh and may it continue to inspire you. My friend lives on in my thoughts and my fond memories bring me times of joy amidst the pain.

I think she was on EP. Very sad to have suffered so much in a relatively short life she's in a better place where she no longer suffers.
