I Have Something to Say

Are all traditions bad? No. Hanukkah (Feast of Dedication/Festival of lights) was not a command in the Hebrew Scriptures, yet this beautiful tradition was kept by our Lord in John 10:22-23, 37-38. Ultimately, the Lord Jesus is the true light of life (John 8:12). So are all traditions bad if kept in light of Christ (1 Corinthians 10:31)? NO. IT’S THE HEARTS MOTIVE. For example, pagans would often build altars to their gods and sacrifice animals to them. Knowing this, Jehovah God commanded the Israelites to build altars and sacrifice animals as seen in the Torah despite what the heathens did. AGAIN, it’s about the hearts motive. Moreover, I will demonstrate that when a believer is born of the seed of God, the same power and righteousness that Christ walked in is now imputed to a believer and he/she cannot be defiled by restricted foods, touching dead bodies, touching lepers and or even touching women whom are bleeding internally and or on their menstrual cycle. We're called to mimic the holiness of Christ which draws all people nigh. Sinners fell in love with Jesus as He drew them with His uncompromising love although they were in the presence of Perfect Holiness. The holiness of the Pharisees was repulsive and thus led no one to eternal life. In the Law of Moses the Israelites were commanded not to touch anything that is unclean or they will be cut off from their people for a period. Jesus touched a dead body (Numbers 19:13), Jesus touched lepers (Leviticus 5:3) and even was touched by a woman who was bleeding internally (Leviticus 15:15-23). But did Jesus become unclean? On the contrary, whatever He touched He made clean. The Lord Jesus was incapable of being defiled by touching these individuals, and also had the power to heal and cleanse them. Thus, these people were unable to defile or transmit their uncleanliness to the sinless Son of God. In return, Christ had the divine ability to transmit his life giving holiness and purity to them! One main reason why Jesus came into the world was so that he could save sinners by cleansing them (both spiritually and physically) through his sacrificial death on Calvary’s cross.
