7. Genesis 38:8-10

Then Judah said to Onan, Go in to your brother’s wife, and perform your duty as a brother-in-law to her, and raise up offspring for your brother. Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so when he went in to his brother’s wife, he wasted his seed on the ground in order not to give offspring to his brother. But what he did was displeasing in the sight of the LORD; so He took his life also.

The part you left out is that Onan's Brother had died... There are thus two issues here... the first is to provide a child to the widow of your Brother and to take her as your Wife so that his line is not ended... The second issue is that this is the specific verse that has been interpreted as to prohibit male masturbation as a sin. My Wife takes this very seriously and ensures that I do not sin in this way. I am a very much blessed man.
