Pardon my religious ignorance but what is the point of not eating meat on Good Friday if you love eating seafood anyway?

Certain Catholic observance days during Lent or Ash Wednesday for example, were regarded as days of penance.
Where a true observer would deny the meat that makes them strong and effectively 'fast' thus showing their strength of will.

Christians are not bound by eating laws. If there are Christian eating laws they are not biblical.

@samueltyler2 I would assume they think they are not allowed to eat meat on Friday, so they eat fish instead.

@CANDAULISTHUSBAND Yes. They believe there’s a law “Thou shalt not eat meat on Good Friday” (or any Friday) and then they try to be smart and eat fish instead. This is true at least for some catholic Italians. It’s difficult to digest – pun intended.
