I Have Something to Say

[c=#BF0080] I don't know about you guys, But I've noticed a few people here ( I wont name any names) that like to preach their Religion here. Okay, I'm sure they are well intentioned and I'm not saying they shouldn't do it (I cant and won't stop them) But in reality. this is a 'secular site. A site for ALL. It is NOT a religious site. Is this the best place to preach your faith?

Also, ALOT of people have been hurt by Religion and have bitter and traumatic experiences of it. Some of them are STILL in recovery. If you are religious, just be aware okay guys? <3 You may NOT get pleasant responses.[/c]

This is a free site....

I have to block people with the weirdest nude avatars and people who post nudity in public threads and private messages, yet I accept patiently because I believe that this site is a free site for everyone to find each other on their similar worlds...

I respect and allow athiest or nonreligious people say their say, even though I have faith and that what they say might hurt my feelings...

Can I ask if this is a warning?? Or a threat??
Why couldn't you accept those who have faith and post about it??
Why should it hurt you if it's not pointing at you??

I understand your concern for others but this is a free site and open to pretty much anything that someone wants to share. It is also not very different from a radio or television...if someone does not like what they hear or see they are free to change the channel. People can be muted and blocked if their thoughts are offensive to someone. Also, if it is a topic that someone is sensitive opposed to the option to not read it is available.

If we are to call this a "secular site", we should also add that it should be apolitical, non-sexual. People have also been seriously hurt by these two subjects as well.

P.S. There are things here I wouldn't allow into my real life or my home, as it isn't a free for all. So I don't want to be involved with it here. I guess the best we can do is try to ignore it, although I will not accept it. Wish we could have private groups!@questionWeaver

This is not a secular site ... by any means.

I do not take kindly to threats

A lot more people have been hurt trying to ban religion. One of the problems is no matter what you say or do your core beliefs (religion) will be expressed in what you say or do or post on a site like this one. Humans are an innately religious species.

@hippyjoe1955 No......many people are sheep and easily controlled. They are mush like addicts or I should say they are addicts. Look at alcohol, drug and sex addicts...they trade one addiction for another. Most people are addicts in some form or another and religions use this.

I agree and feel all organized religions cause a lot of problems and control people in bad ways. If there weren't missionaries influencing aboriginal societies long ago we wouldn't have had the starvation and wars we have today. The missionaries were used as political pawns to take over countries / cultures by countries like Spain, France and England.

I am a faithful person.... not a religious one... having said that, even though I kind of agree with you, I still believe everyone has the right to say their say... you, as an opposition, can argue, or can block

@Soossie I do not block people for having faith, or for talking about it. I block people who overgeneralize about atheists like me, get insulting, and/or who get pushy with their religion. Also, sometimes these debates make me annoyed or simply give me a headache. I want this site to be a refuge and a happy, entertaining place. So I block people who drag me away from that state. I hate when this site makes me angry.

I do block Trump supporters, though, without exception.

Most people who "talk about religion" are not genuinely trying to "preach". If one wanted to preach one would try to find common ground with others, find a space of intimacy, and share personal experiences. That almost never happens. What mostly happens are people brutalizing others and holding themselves over others using religion as a pretext.
