Because we are above our ego and experiences. We are observers. To ask if something aligns with who “you” are is egotistical because it is a very simplified form of learning being that you are falling back of your experiences

this is me caring for myself. this is me choosing the right things, the things that won't bring me more trouble, things that will allow me to nurture myself and continue to grow instead of becoming stagnant
