Northern Sierra, right? Sweet. I'm in the more central/southern areas of the range a lot but have always wanted to get to the most northern areas. I've heard the hiking is pretty mellow and there's a ton of water. Fall in the Sierra is the BEST. Thanks for sharing.

@Ynotisay yeah, near Graeagle. I'm headed for Shasta tomorrow and I'll be on the East slope next week - my annual Fall mtn fix

@tindrummer I just looked it up. Nice area. You're hitting the good spots up there. I've never backpacked around Shasta but my understanding is that it's all kinds of awesome. I just got back from a 10 day trip in the Muir Wilderness and Mineral King in SEKI. Like you I need a good fall mountain fix. Take a Sierra trip every year. No people, no bugs, good weather. Win Win Win.
