I Really Love the Mountains
I love walking on the Mynydd Du. There is a car park on the main road over the mountain. But no one leaves it. Except me! I walk over the mountain to a place where the river flows. It reaches a point where the river plunges into a gorge.
And in the gorge grows the only tree on the mountain, fed by the spray of the river.
It’s a mountain ash. It has few leaves and just a few berries each Autumn. It hardly grows. It is no bigger than when I was 3. And now I’m 18.
I started writing about it when I was 13 on ep. My name was Blodyn. But every girl in Wales is called Blodyn! It means flower. It’s like they call you sweetheart in England. It’s lovely!
But my real name is a flower. It is Lili. I am Lili Haf Jones.
