I Have An Invisible Disability

I didn't learn that I even HAD Aspergers until I was in my 20s. I had learned to mask it. and so I functioned quite well as long as I was a fish in water. Now my life is so hard to get together and the Aspergers is locking me up.

But you've married and had children too? Life otherwise been OK?
I also have hidden disability, but a physical one.

@SW-User Life was OK within a range of parameters, but I am out of my element and trying to divorce an abuser with more emotional savvy than me. That will be my 3rd divorce if it can ever go through. Many people with autism spectrum disorders cut ties with life and shut down/become reclusive. I know that I need contact with people, but I get where they're coming from because dealings in the world of normal people feel like defeat and futility and therefor don't make sense to carry on.

@xmedleft I don't have autism as far as I know, but have felt like you do
All the best with what seems to be a pretty tough divorce process going on!

I work with kids with Asperger's. They are my favorite clients to work with.
