I Hate Being Lied to

I am a Catechumen. My mom died a few month ago. I joined the All Souls Day activity of the local church to pray for my mom. When I arrived the church, I found that no one there. Then, a priest pass by, I pointed to the empty church and asked him if this the place for the All Souls Day. He told me "Yes". I trusted him and came in the dark church alone. I waited for a while and found that its already 5 minutes late for the activity. I start search for another area. Finally, I found that all others persons and the priest were in another room!
I really feel bad about it!
