I Believe People Come Into Your Life For a Reason

Many times throughout my life thus far I have had someone in my life who certainly proved to have had a +greater purpose. Often this translates into personal benefit, yet more so it tends to be that a relationship, no matter if it is lengthy or brief, has afforded me the opportunity to be a positive in someone else's life.

The reason people come into our lives can be so that we can, in ways large or small, influence, enrich, or in a sense save their life.

I was told often by the woman overseas with whom I had a two year emotional affair that I saved her life. Her children very early on imparted to her that, "Mummy is less grumpy these days." Friends of hers would remark on her transformation. The edges had been taken off of her life and she saw herself in a new light. The effect was mutual as I felt more alive in that time.

Even after she ended things it turned out that I remained a positive in her life during a hell ish year for her.

She was just one of many people who came into my life for the betterment of mine, theirs, or both.

The ones who we surround ourselves with day in and day out. They make us laugh, they make us smile, and they bring out the best in us. In time, they may be able to be a "best friend", but if they aren't, it's not necessarily a bad thing. Because no matter what, these friends have touched your heart in one way, shape or form.

@bgeginny: I take it that you have experienced such crossing of paths.

@WellFrog: of course =) I suppose I think that the universe provides what we need, when we need it - for better and for worse.
