I think the universe and life is far too intricate to be all random. Whether I use logic or emotion I come to the same conclusion. I think it is a deliberate creation.
@Axeroberts If an external influence created it, I think we are a VERY long way from having the technology to investigate that. Sometimes the grownup thing to do is admit that we just don't know.
@NakedExperiment for sure no one can say they know. But on a personal level I think we do have the ability to know for ourselves although we do not have scientific proof
@Axeroberts Sorry, I don't understand what you're saying. I don't know where the universe came from (if it even did) and you've just said you don't either. What is there not to make sense?
As to the functional structure, there could have been infinite previous universes with different structures which didn't work. Saying that something outside the universe created just moves the same question to "How did that creator come about".
@Axeroberts No point discussing creation then. I haven't seen any need for an external creator, so I believe it's worth looking into creation if it interests you.
I'm not sure how useful knowing where the universe came from actually is, but most knowledge comes in useful, even if we don't know how it is yet.
