how many days do you leave your cell phone off for?

i think i may start isolating myself and talking less and less. i feel like i'm always waiting for people to message me or text me or wait until theyre done being busy before we can converse again. everyone else does it.... so why should i sit around and wait.

I have a cellphone because my first roommate here, 8 years ago, had one and no landline. I hate to talk on the phone. I made my living on the phone for many years. I only answer it if I know who it is and it's someone I want to talk to, which means I almost never answer it. And I don't do texts. I hate phones!

I had my phone off for 12days as I went on holidays and came back to 68 missed calls and 15 sms messages
you never get anxious to take a peak at it? i always get anxious within 30 mins. and then i find nothing. im always so quick to respond... i dont wana be that person anymore. i want people finding me.

@iCrochetstuff: NO as I left it at work as all I have is a work mobile
I don't have a phone. When I visit my sister I'm amazed at how that little thing dictates her life.

don't punish the phone for another's doings.

phones are a useful utility, great for emergencies, information... scheduling... a way to 'get the hell out of dodge' when necessary.

I'm a mom so I'm terrified my young adult kids will get hurt or die, and I take it into the bedroom with me at night. DS is especially adept at 3 am calls. Being a parent, ugh.
