Why dosent anywhere else in the world but US and Canada have typical houses that look like this?

I think houses in the other countries look strange

they're quite wasteful of both land and energy, most places don't have those to squander I'd guess

And of course, those are only 'typical' if you're middle class or higher, which is to say rather less than half the population of those countries.

I’m not sure but I also know I couldn’t live in a house that had their washer in the kitchen. I think about dirty underwear and socks and food and it grossed me out.
