Were millions of pounds from rich donors pouring in during the fire in the apartment buildings in London where people actually burned alive?

I would not even call the money big corporations are giving for Notre Dame reconstruction donations. It is exchanging money for a better public image, and likely for tax deductions too.

The dodgy company that provided the cladding was barely taken to task, probably given a tax deduction the next year for the pitiful amount they were forced to pay the victims.

No. But people are donating to the building and not the lives lost.

People get attached to different things. One of our local dive bars burnt down and there was a fundraising drive because people loved it and had great memories of it. It’s actually being rebuilt.

Notre Dame is unique. People are easily replaceable.
