Today is TAX DAY for Americans. How much less tax did you pay this year compared to last year?

We got a much bigger refund this year. Our "standard deduction" was doubled and our tax rate was lower.

Didn't save, paid.

This is because, with a home mortgage interest deduction on Schedule A, already doing better than either the old or new standard deduction. So the loss of the exclusions hit me.

If you weren't doing better with Sched. A, I can see how it would help, but loads of ppl are in my group.
