Finally I escaped military service

My country, unlike other countries that basically enjoy peace for granted, my country is st one of those areas things are not that smooth. Conscription is required for males, with service ranging from four months to a year.

If you have watched Robert lee Ermey's Full metal jacket, then you know that the army won't be a pleasant experience.

Not only is our army unrestrained, they don't enjoy high esteem also. Why?

In 2015 my country aquired 30 Apache Longbows from the states, but in just less than a month, a noob crashed one into a low rise flat. Another incident happened two months ago. A tank commander accidentally drove a Patton down a bridge.

Well , those are just incidents at the top of the barrel. If we dig deep into it, things only go from bad to worse.

Yet, they are vital to my country. Our major threat has been attempting to occupy us for more than half a century already, and without the army boys, we'd be in deep trouble, just look at them:

However, as you may know, we barely have the power to drive them back. Our current strategy is to raise their cost for an invasion, after all, even the States retreated away from Vietnam because the costs were too high.

Still, I find it lucky to evade or escape military service. Why? That is because I have a complication where my soles are flat. I forgot what the medical name of that is, but it surely did help me a lot.

It is hard to express how I exactly feel, but I just gotta say, it is one of the best things I ever had :)

I served flat footed 4 years ,but I was on small boat duty so marching was not an issue ,,
people with flat feet bounce ,so their head is an easy target in formation ,
I fought against drugs and American arrogance and stupidity ,,
they may have money to own a boat ,but often no experience in running it and keeping the souls on board safe ,and that is when we were called ,when all hell was breaking loose and we were their only hope,
and we also did our share of immigration ,stopping people from entering our county buy water .
So I did more saving people from drowning or burning up on vessels on fire
We never knew from on minute to the next if we were rescuing someone in the water or about to board a drug smuggler with intent to kill us
It was not until the end of my enlistment they decided to let us carry weapons ,
so often we were in harms way with only a line throwing gun that looks like a shot gun and a water cannon we use to fight fires with to give the appearance we were armed ,and a line throwing gun can do damage ,but its a single shot and the projectile that can do damage has to be fired off the deck ,putting it to your shoulder would be a big mistake ,,so we never knew when it would be close quarter hand to hand or a bluff ,but I was blessed ,very few did I have to do the hard take down ,,but I have ,
Keeping them from drowning you in the water was a big issue we knew how to handle
Many times when we did find vessels with drugs and weapons I think the only thing that saved us was the Helo above us or knowing other boats were coming and other law enforcement vessels were on the way and they had no where to run
But many do take their freedom for granted ,and the ones who risk all to keep them safe
Though you were not in service to my country ,thank you for your service anyway
Glad you made it through your enlistment and you are here to tell about it ,
God bless and again ,thanks for your service
i think it's called flatius solicus.

Damn..you're still lucky:
1-Our military service ranges from 6 to 18 months
2-You serve to a fascist-islamist government here
3-I have the same condition but it isn't counted as an excuse here.

My son has flat feet and I'm kind of glad - though apparently it isn't the barrier it once was
