I watched my father die from lung cancer. Watched his friend die from lung cancer. Not me

I had a sister-in-law die from lung cancer and she never smoked. Her husband however was a 3 pack a day man. He didn't die from lung cancer. Had an embolism and died at 34. He didn't live long enough to get cancer.
