I Have a Dog

Sparky was an amazing best friend...a smoothie dachshund, loyal and loving for his entire 17 years who waited patiently on the chair by the front window for me to return from high school, university and then with my new husband and with both daughters.

So when he passed, quietly, pain free and in my arms licking my lips with the same puppy intent and vigor, I thought “what better way to preserve Sparky’s loving memory than to preserve Sparky?”

Stripped slowly of flesh and muscle the way Mother Nature intended and his bones carefully polished, strengthened and mounted, Sparky can forever maintain his favorite place in the house with a view of loved ones coming or going or on the table waiting for another meal.

Hmmm, shudda thiught of that. Dear GT, it was the maggots which stripped, cleansed and bore the bones glistening.@goliathtree

@KaTeeEvent you would never notice them mixed in the fried rice.

Lol. You need to feed that scoundrel

@BearDownChicago Uncanny, but his built in alarm clock was always amazingly accurate when it came to feeding times. He’d start to grumble within five mins if there was no move to the fridge at 8am and 6 pm.
That's the first anorexic dog I've ever seen.
