I Tried Online Dating

So I was completely alone on Valentines Day and not only that but a woman sent a harassing message to me in the dating app I use, and that was the only message I got there that day.

But also I have been talking to a young woman, who initiated our conversation, who has expressed to meet each other, and soon before May. But she said at first she thought my profile was fake cause it only had badly taken photos as my face was in the shadow and that suddenly she wasn't sure and she'd like me to show a good photo. So I gave in and put better photos in my profile, but she stopped messaging. She didn't message me for a while including Valentines.

I finally message her this morning saying I miss talking to her and that I felt so bad getting a harassment on Valentines and I could have used a warm friendly message from her. I wasn't angry. I did ask why suddenly she was silent.

She finally replied that she told me that she thought I was fake and she was trolling, etc. It seemed like a cold reply, 3 blunt sentences in response to my questions that I tried best to soften and make amiable in tone.

I didn't message anymore. I could have argued that yes she first thought I was fake but then she said she wasn't sure and she asked for the photos that were suppose to make her less anxious. So I just blocked and reported her. Not sure exactly what she did but it felt wrong. But did I do the right thing also? I admit maybe I overreacted? I don't know. It said our messages to each other were over 100. Did she purposely lead me on to write all those only to let me down? Or maybe she was just scared and protecting herself? Or maybe she didn't like what I look like and could care less. I'll never know.
Maybe she is a troll and not even a girl. Anyway she sounds rude and horrible.. Sorry that you got harassed and and lonely tho :/

I don't think I'm good looking. When I was 13 I think I looked good, but not any more.

What caused you to think otherwise?

Because I use to get compliments then, including college age girls, doesn't happen anymore, also my health sort of deteriorated... long story.
