I've heard stories of others having to do this. I never thought I'd have to, but I got caught up on other assignments and ran out of time. Now I don't feel so good... 馃槪
Talk it over with the professor. If they can see you're struggling with other classwork, and not just goofing off, there's a good chance they'll give you the extension. Just don't abuse it if they do.
