Wasn't a personal favourite of mine growing up! Especially when it was bouncing off my bum!

My friend got the brush of her mother. Mum had moved the cane more in to view.
She has said she will buy me a new one for my birthday. She has spare in a locked cupboard.

@SW-User Really! A bit out of fashion in the northern states. More of a 50's - 60's kind of thing. I guess it still goes on here and there.

my mom used to really tear up my butt with her hairbrush when I was a kid. then when I turned about 14, she turned over all the spanking duties to our dad and his leather strap! I tell you that though, my mom could REALLY lite a fire on my bare behind with her hairbrush just about as fiery as my dad's strap. OMG did that hairbrush HURT!

The hardest hair brush spankings i got was after i got home from school. When i was at school the cane slipper and hand spanking was used so some times i would have a sore bottom before mum did anything.
