I Hated Mommys Hairbrush When I Was A Kid

I have to say I love the image for this group. As someone who felt the brush growing up I can respect that hairbrush !!!

How old were you when you stopped getting spanked? I'm 17 and my mom spanked me yesterday. Honestly, I feel that I'm far too old for it

@Sarahdrown882 I don’ think there is any upper age limit. We all mature at different ages, some take a lot longer than others. I didn’t get spanked that often in my later teens. However, my first summer home from college and I was a bit full of myself and behaved poorly. My mother attempted to address a few things with me and I talked back to her using a profanity that had become a habit at school. Well, at 19, I got a serious spanking with her old hairbrush. It went on longer than in the past and I was bawling like crazy. But, it taught me a lesson I never forgot. I was grateful my younger sister and our father were gone for the day. After staying in my room feeling sorry for myself, I finally started to admit that I had been wrong and that mom had shown amazing patience to take as much as she did before I just went too far. I knew that I hit what I deserved and later admitted that to her. We had a nice long hug. My butt was plenty sore even the next day and couldn’t really complain or feel put upon, as I had earned the good sound spanking that I got. I behaved better when I went back to school, even though mother was not around and I started to observe other girls in my dorm (even those much older than me) who could have benefitted from a mother with a firm hand (or hairbrush). My conclusion was that it is not age that should be the determining factor, it’s on you and how you conduct yourself. Looking back over the years, I can say what would have been difficult in my teens, I am glad that we had a loving brilliant mother who was strict with us when we needed it the most.
@CuriousVikingGirl You have a very mature perspective. I admire it greatly. After being given a parking ticket for parking 55 minutes beyond what the meter had been set for, it has taken me a dozen years or so to admit that there is no better way to enforce turnover in parking spots than to ticket those who overstay the time on the meter.

It is annoying to have a literal pain in the butt that you can't rub away but, alas, it is how spanking works to focus our attention. Lingering spanking soreness is safe enough but also a most effective memory aid, continually reminding us that we have recently been spanked for some inappropriate language or behavior. Think of your (Sarah Drown's spanking) as an aid to self-control and self-management.

@Sarahdrown882 16 from memory

A mum's eye view; or as my mother would have said, 'getting to the bottom of things.'
MarySomerville · 46-50, F
@ThatMusgraveWoman yes absolutely
@MarySomerville TMW makes a great point how the artist has taken the perspective of the spanking mom! Obviously true but it is helpful to have attention called to the fact. The prominence of the back of the hairbrush calls attention to the official subject of the group.

Two of the above comments should be noted: SubsumedPat recalls the exact color and material composition of his mom's hairbrush (blue plastic!) and JMillsey rightly notes that each spank with the hairbrush "demands" respect and burns that respect into the recipient's memory. Each time I see an image of the back side of a traditional, oval, spanking hairbrush, I am reminded very clearly of how sharp the sting was from my first hairbrush spanking.

For sure, no kid needs anything more potent.

Well said! The hairbrush demands respect! It burned my bottom enough times for me to know it too!

I agree :-) that is a very lovely image :-)

@Snuffy1957 I always like pictures like that relating to spanking in general

I didn't get the chance to respect it growing up. But at least as an adult!

It was a blue plastic one, I remember it well.
