Any tips or suggestions on studying the bible?

Sometimes when I'm reading a Bible chapter I'll be reading it but I have to read some lines several times because It's like I read it but none of it stuck to me. So I wanted to know if anyone had any tips on what to do so that as much of a bible chapter sticks to me as possible. Like should I take notes? If so what kind of notes or if there is some sort of guided notes out there you know of. I have tried doing summaries of chapters and rewriting all of it in my own words but that can take too much time. Please leave any suggestions below.
Before you start studying the Bible is important to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you and help you understand the things of the spirit. Just let him speak to your heart as you read the word.
When did you accept Christ as your personal Savior?

I recommend getting a modern version of translated text in your language. Over the years you may have to read it several times to comprehend what exactly the message is telling you. Memorizing verses is not as important as contemplating the meaning. And Please, Please keep an open mind while reading it. Historical/cultural context is everything.

It's like that sometimes. I read it like I read any other book, highlighting what sticks out to me and then follow up with prayer for clarity. I, also, switch up the versions if I don't understand it via the KJV or NIV.

We all learn in our own way, what works for me is just reading until a line isn't just ho hum then I just stay on that. I stop reading and let the line swirl around in my head.
In a little country church in 1980. Yes, that is a long time ago and the anchor still holds. 🙏🏻💖

I have the same problem at times, as it is written, it is difficult to stay attentive. I purchased a set of CDs with the Bible on them and I listen while I am driving. I listen to Mark, then I read Mark later that evening. I find that, for me, I need to get comfortable and away from distractions.

The bible sums it down into one simple thing - the 10 commandments.
Or what a friend said to me about GOD Good Orderly Direction
@riseofthemachine The Ten Commandments are great of course, but there's a million other things that are wonderful to learn and study in the Bible. The Ten Commandments were not meant for salvation. The Bible is very clear on that.
