I Don't Believe In The Paranormal
People that do tend to say I should "open my mind to the possibility." They seem to act like the paranormal makes things more interesting or that reality without it would be somehow boring.
I don't understand that. There's plenty of real things that are almost like magic. Quantum entanglement, neutron stars, black holes, time dilation, superposition, string theory, m-theory...
Perhaps they're drawn to ghost and spirits because they are easier to understand? Or more importantly since they aren't real then "answers" can be derived very easily. Mere supposition and confirmation bias will confirm everything for them as opposed to rigorous study that may or may not yield results in your lifetime. To be honest I lump it in the same category as religion: it is the easy answer.
