I'm a Good Listener

I was on a cruise a couple of weeks ago. I got up around 3 am one night so I went to get some coffee and as I was making my coffee a lady approached me and we started chatting. We made our way to a booth where she continued to tell me about her life, her husband, kids and disappointments. I sat and listened only putting in the occasionally "awww."

On our last cup of coffee she thanked me for being a listening ear. I really think she needed to be heard and I was happy I could be there for her.

Sometimes it's good to remain quiet and just listen.

Nice share. People really open up when they travel - don't they? Or maybe travelers in general are more open people. But always puts a smile on my face to hear what people will reveal by Day 3 of sharing a swimming pool. 😏

@hlpflwthat: I never thought about that but yeah you're right. I think too that they're more relaxed, less stressed and more friendlier and then they're more apt to opening up. Thanks for responding.

That is lovely. I would love to have you as a friend, not the virtual kind, although nothing wrong with that, but I love people that try to help others.
