I Challenge You to Challenge Me to Write
A day late but still thinking about Halloween
Challenge for October 31st.
Howling at the Moon
"So, tell me, how is it we've never met?"
She looked into his longing eyes. You could tell that he was bewitched by the sight of her. A long flowing white gown. The light from the moon shining all around her. Creating an aura that transfixed him.
"I see you every night," she said.
He looked at her, as if he had seen a ghost. The woman he saw in his dreams was now standing in front of him. He wanted to scream out, but something inside made him freeze.
"You look just as I imagined you," he said.
"Yes, my sweet, I am yours. This night was meant to be for the two of us."
As he hears the howling of a pack of coyotes, he sees a smile creep across her face. "My children are singing their mournful tune. It's time to play. It is the night for all monsters to come out and dance. To feel the thrill of the night all around us. Come and join me."
As as he awoke, the presence of her spirit still lingered. Was she a vampire? A figment of his imagination? He'll never know until Halloween comes again.

The day is ok and the sun can be fun
But I live, to see those rays slip away"
