I Challenge You to Challenge Me to Write
Here is my answer to the August first challenge!
Two sides to every story:
"Would you like to go to a show tonight?"
I looked on with my mouth agape.
It was just the works I was hoping to hear. It almost felt like I was given a birthday present. Of course i said I would love to go. His voice, with a bass timbre to it, sent shivers down my spine. He looked at his watch and said he would pick me up at 6:00. We would have a light dinner before the show, and that sounded perfect.
When I arrived home my first stop was to look in my closet. My eyes immediately went to my favorite red dress, the one with the bow tied on the side. "Perfect", I thought. After a cool shower I laid everything on the bed. I wanted to present myself in the best possible light, and to show him I was really looking forward to this evening. I took my time to dress, making sure that everything I did was flawless.
He picked me up right on time. Being the perfect gentleman He held the door open for me, as I slid in to the front seat. I had to watch and make sure that my heels followed my legs in. I didn't want them banging against the door. I smiled to myself, noticing him observing my legs going in.
The show was amazing. I could feel the bass notes running right through me. When the curtain came down and the cast came out for their final bow I felt elated, but also a bit sad. Our date was soon going to be over. So when he walked me to my front door, I gave him one final kiss. With hope that we would be able to do it again.
