This is the ONLY artwork that I've made since I've started college like 4 months ago and then I wonder why I'm getting worse at drawing 😭😂

What in pop culture isn’t built on an initial method. The numerous huge legs suggested the Kracken to me. They look pretty essential. 😉

@Azrael2 The character is very well done. Your lines of demarcation are very clear - no smudges, so there's no guess work. And you pay a lot of attention to detail. You do a good job of filling the space. The tentacles are well done, and the dark space behind them (kind of inside of them) gives it a very mysterious quality - like, I wonder what's in there. I know it took a lot of time to create what looks like scales, and your shading is well done, giving it a three-dimensional appearance. I also like the graduation of colors. This piece took some planning, such as there was in making the "fangs" first, then filling in with the tentacles behind them. I like how you made the eyes. I appreciate your being so careful and articulate, not sloppy in your drawing of those arrows. It's all very clean. I like that there are 7 points in the left eye (as viewed), and 8 points in the right. (I'm a stickler for detail, too.)

You have a lot going for you. Keep going. 👍️

@daydeeo I don't really have the money for drawing classes and I do try to do something everyday, it just ends up being random doodles and sketches :/

@Azrael2 random sketches can improve your skills. What's the difference between random sketches and purposeful sketches?😄
Don't give up. It might be for a season you have to put it on the back burner, but if you love it - and I'm sure you do - you'll come back to it.

@MartinTheFirst oh yeahhh, that's some Lovecraftian kinda stuff (which is what I was going for)

@Azrael2 well... not quite... lovecraft is always gothic and a bit badass looking, as if it came from outer space. This slime oger looks wonky and kind of like it grew from a sewer.

@MartinTheFirst lol I'm sure Lovecraft would've been as paranoid about sewer monsters as he was of everything else that was unknown 😂
