False flattery

It is annoying when you are clearly older and someone tries to false flatter you. I have had it where I have been called young man. I know what you are trying to do, it will not work. Am I the only one who finds it backhanded?

I had it one time out with my son and someone asked if we were brothers. Oh, I can see what you are doing and it is rude.
