What drives you to do better at something?

splashUK2014
Passion. I tend to work hard at the things that matter, in part because of a lack of self-belief. I like to do things 'properly' ..that can be a curse of course but I do believe that success is the end result of tenacity or 'grit' ..in fact there's a good video on TED.com about this.

Here's that video: https://www.ted.com/talks/angela_lee_duckworth_the_key_to_success_grit?language=en

Yeah, but failing does drive you to try and not fail again. I do agree though! :)

Yes, hence my comment that failing is a necessary part of success... To learn and to try again. :)

Work-wise, it's to be the best I possibly can be every day. I suppose it's an inner drive and self motivation. I know my limitations, my strengths and weaknesses, so you can only do your best within your own abilities and skills.

That's really good to remember! All you really can to is try to be the best you can...you can't do better than that!

It's a mix of a lot of things and it really depends on the situation. I guess...motivation. It's fuelled by different reasons depending on the situation.

I really agree with that!

Just being alive in general.

That's great! Each new day is kind of like motivation to do better than you have before?
Rokasu
When you sleep your mind and body rest and do all that repair/re-organize stuff. That way when the next day hits, there's always something new and interesting you couldn't do before (Assuming you practiced). Why not take advantage of it?

Competition...and Frustration...

Definitely! Disappointment is a major motivator!
