Are there other Democrats that will run against Hillary?

Legman79
I vote third party for since bush gore was my first presidential election. Both sides are saying same thing with basically the same results. That like trying screw in a nail it's about time someone other then democrips and republoodcans and don't want to see another bush in the White House!
atenra11
I honestly thing that the people who 'think' like that, actually don't realize how lousy the republican economic policies are.
...
Without true economic change, you're phucked, and dig a hole you'll need YEARS to recover, if not more.
........
Remember this much
a. Last Day of Jimmy Carter - the US was the number one CREDITOR nation
b. Last Day of Ronald Reagan - the US was the number one DEBTOR nation
think about that one
for a while
c. Last Day of Clinton, with Al Gore - we had a SURPLUS - actual cash
d. Last Day of Bush - huge debts - and an economy that nearly did a Great Depression
.........
think about that one too
or when Republicans want to send people off the Debt Cliff with a default
many people feel that the Republicans are out to destroy
everything FDR and LBJ accomplished
and they'll want to turn back to the clock to the days of Wall Street being the freaking unregulated Wild West, like it was under Harding, Coolidge, and Herbert Hoover.
..........
The most loyal of democrats came up from poverty and economic chaos
the ones that Roosevelt saved
the ones that LBJ and Kennedy saved [they halved the Eisenhower poverty rate, yeah like 20-25% of the entire US was in poverty in the booming economy of the 1950s, LBJ got it to like 12%, 20 million people who cant afford to eat is a bit of a problem.
and well the people suffering with unemployment from clinton/bush era globalization and crappy trade pacts and the Bush recession/depression
will not be thinking the way you do.
...........
long term the future is bright, short term it sucks....
and let's not talk about the Bush I Savings and Loan Scandals that came out after Iran-Contra. Seems a heck of a lot of Texas Banks and a network of some very creepy characters, where dozens and dozens of Banks had tentacles of the Mafia, and with a ton of Republicans and Intelligence creepers, costing the taypayer BILLIONS.
.........
"In the 1980s, some thirty or more savings and loan associations were secretly taken over by CIA, for use to funnel covert funds for bloody and dirty tricks. After the operation was concluded, the money was sucked out, and the particular S&L "collapsed". A highly skilled Texas journalist detailed the doings of some 26 of these CIA-S&L operations which went "bust" and the clean-up arranged supposedly by the federal deposit insurance authorities at the great damage and detriment of the taxpayers. One of the
S&Ls was run by one of George Bush's sons. See Pete Brewton's heavily documented work, "The Mafia, the CIA, and George Bush"."
.........
Do you really see the Republicans as no different?
or financially MORE responsible?
AlwaysGood
The question is... whether any candidates will be right of hard-line socialists/communists?
AlwaysGood
Wow.., just wow. Smh. A is a... and reality is reality... feel free to join anytime.

"Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a neo-something: a neo-Marxist, a neo-Trotskyist, a neo-liberal, a neo-conservative and, in religion, always a neo-orthodox, even while I was a neo-Trotskyist and a neo-Marxist. I’m going to end up a neo. Just neo, that’s all. Neo-dash-nothing.”
Irving Kristol
...
Aww come on most of the neo-conservative movement was all a bunch of frustrated Trotskyites who ran like cockroaches to real power, and ended up in the GOP. And you got World Revolution, Republican style with Richard Perle and Leo Strauss, and the rest is history
...
- During the early 1970s, Socialist Michael Harrington was one of the first to use "neoconservative" in its modern meaning. He characterized neoconservatives as former leftists – whom he derided as "socialists for Nixon" – who had become more conservative.
...
- During July 2008 Joe Klein wrote in Time that today's neoconservatives are more interested in confronting enemies than in cultivating friends. He questioned the sincerity of neoconservative interest in exporting democracy and freedom, saying, "Neoconservatism in foreign policy is best described as unilateral bellicosity cloaked in the utopian rhetoric of freedom and democracy."
...
- Starting during the 1980s, disputes concerning Israel and public policy contributed to a conflict with paleoconservatives. Pat Buchanan terms neoconservatism "a globalist, interventionist, open borders ideology."
....
- Responding to a question about neoconservatives in 2004, William F. Buckley said: "I think those I know, which is most of them, are bright, informed and idealistic, but that they simply overrate the reach of U.S. power and influence."
.....
Francis Fukuyama identified neoconservatism with Leninism during 2006. He wrote that neoconservatives:
"…believed that history can be pushed along with the right application of power and will. Leninism was a tragedy in its Bolshevik version, and it has returned as farce when practiced by the United States. Neoconservatism, as both a political symbol and a body of thought, has evolved into something I can no longer support."

"We are gonna take things away from you... for the benefit of the greater good."
Hillary Clinton
How much more socialist/communist can you get? America doesn't want communism. We want our maximum freedoms promised by the founding fathers. Free from oppressive govt taxation today, just as they did at the founding and the oppressive British taxation.
You want the taxation based society... move anywhere you please. But please respect the vision of the founding father had for this society. So far it has only proved out to be the most successful economic force on a per capita basis than any other society before.... by a landslide. Communism/socialism will only tear it down.

OConnor13
Nope, just her. Of course there will be other contenders. It's just a little disconcerting that no one's hit the radar yet.

There's lots on the radar, it's just that the mainstream media doesnt say a lot.

And well the list aint final, but that's a ton of people
OConnor13
Thanks for the information. Several of those contenders are, well...I hope some of the unknowns are better suited for the job. But I'll definitely look into these names. The more you know...
Xuan
Possibly. If they decide to do it, they'll probably be careful about how they campaign, they've seen the GOP self-immolate in the primaries and wouldn't want to succumb to that.
Tminus6453
probably wont matter anyway.. just give her the title...
SW-User
I doubt it will be that easy.

:O
atenra11
well there is some strategy to this...
anyone going in early is just going to set up the Republican Noise Machine, and you'll hear doubts and doom and slander and it wears people down. It's why they do it, it works, and why the Glenn Becks, and Limbaughs and Hannities do it, to seed things and then on different news shows parrot the same phrase, and if you repeat it long enough......
uh
the daily show will show the hypocrisy....
xkmb
just for the dog and pony show. i think it has been decided. i dont believe the primaries are any more real than bigfoot
ChipmunkErnie
Yes, better ones to my mind.

there's a lot of new blood in the democratic party, but the problem is that the apathy and skepticism of the general public and funding to get some simplified message out there to people. You'll probably have to wait for congress to shift back, where things were safer before 1994 to see things normalize.
And well you cant expect a lot without economic change and proper policy. People want to go back to the solid Keynesian Economics that fixed the nation and worked well 1934-1975.
And well the school of the right with Milton Friedman basically was grasped by some people with an inflation crisis and it finally took till the Asian Flu in 1998 or so for people to realize that Disaster Capitalism isnt good policy anymore. And add to it bad trade policy and globalization that no one really wants cept the World Bank and Corporations, and the key is having low unemployment and a high minimum wage and with that a stable middle class.
But you'll need to go back to a tax policy before reagan, and well think of the golden years of capitalism under Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon, which was all under Keynesian Economics, and fairly high corporate taxes. Now the burden is on a middle class to pay for the burden of running the dog and pony show, as well as the mistakes of poor policy.
.................
no one really wants Hiliary and Republican-Lite Democrats anymore, but they did was was politically safe, and you have crappy trade policy, you got suffering and poverty with Republican Welfare policies of the 90s, you got a minimum wage that basically hasnt changed since Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter.
..................
People would rather have someone like Paul Krugman running the show rather than some Republican-Lite Democrats running the show........
the question is can Sanders or Biden or the other half dozen people get traction with the primaries which really don't involve enough of the people who vote Democrat. Do you really want it to be based on a few shallow and rushed debates, in like a few states?
............
The problem isnt getting a Democrat elected, the problem is waiting for congress to change back in 2-6 years, and within 15 years, both congress and the white house will be fully democratic for a long long time demographically, the question is just how much short term damage politicians will do to the economy and the system, and the problem are the republican-lite democrats who do anything that's politically safe.
All these weird issues in the 90s like the V-Chip in televisions, which were basically issues only important to swing voters, and it felt like you had the idiot 15% of people deciding on useless issues, and the whole economic and foreign policy of a nation or world gets decided on it.
In the good old days, LBJ could put Barry Goldwater in his place with the Daisy Television Advertisment saying an idiot like him would give us World War Three, and well thank god Nixon wasnt President in 1960, since Nixon with the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis would have created a rather interesting World War Three.
