Why does there seem to be more traffic accidents and close calls lately? Are there more or less in your area?

Distracted driving with talking and texting on cell phones. People forget that driving is not the simplest of tasks, and driving safely requires looking over your shoulder to check blind spots, using your turn indicator. People get lazy and in a hurry and don't exercise caution, nor concern for the wellbeing of others.

uh, much HIGHER population in the world today, many MORE cars on the roads, many roads were not built to handle the traffic volume that they now try to deal with. tension, stress, CELL PHONES, TEXTING,

and I could keep going on and on

I was wondering that too - seems to be a lot more accidents on the highway by my house lately. Maybe it's because we get tourists during the summer and their not familiar with the road. Cheers!
