Is it ok to cry ?

Me and my brother in law and our friends have our own band I'm the bass player even though I don't sing much there are a few songs I do sing. Were doing a concert tomorrow for local family only we were supposed to open up for our favorite band again like we did last summer but because of this virus they canceled the show until next year we were supposed to do it on 9/11 but we'll do it again next year. We were gonna do a tribute to 9/11 by singing songs by other country artists like we do every year. This time I was picked to sing I'm Already There by Lonestar that song has made me cry since I heard it the first time as a kid especially the radio version where it has people and children calling into they're family. That version makes me cry. Another song I'll be singing is Tough Little Boys by Gary Allan I do love country music and both artists but those songs make me sad. For some reason I'm always picked to sing the sad songs I don't know why. Is it ok to cry while singing ?

Absolutely. Even the toughest people cry. Like this guy:

Showing emotion while singing is okay.
When people sing happy songs they smile and express joy.
Expressing sorrow and empathy with sad songs shows how passionate one is their craft.

Yes, absolutely, it will make it a more powerful performance

only in the shower.

Great song by the way.
Yes, of course. Even as performers we feel the emotion in our music.
