I Enjoy a Wide Range of Music
Rock and classic rock are my preferred genres - The Beatles, Billy Joel, Queen, Elton John, Black Sabbath / Ozzy Osborne, Chicago, Neil Young, ZZ Top, U2, Beach Boys, Metallica; Halestorm, The Struts, Imagine Dragons, Shinedown, Dropkick Murphys, and plenty more.
I do like some rap and hip-hop, though. Most of it, I guess, would be called 'old school' - stuff from the 80s and into the early 90s: Run DMC, LL Cool J, Will Smith, etc. I like Eminem a lot more than I would expect, for a more current rap artist. I also like some country, but not much. Garth Brooks, Charlie Daniels, Kenny Rogers, probably a few others though more songs than artists. That said, I'd say country and rap/hip-hop are my two least-favorite genres.
I also like what would be classified as "older" stuff: Frank Sinatra, Glen Miller Orchestra, Ray Charles, Bo Diddly, Ella Fitzgerald, etc.
I can have pretty much anything on as "background" noise - if we're in your car, for example, whatever you have on while we're talking is fine. If it's something I don't usually listen to, there's a good chance something will catch my ear and I'll "Shazam" it on my phone so I can remember to look it up later.
