May your Thanksgiving be wonderful [I Love Thanksgiving]

Thanksgiving has always been a day for family to gather as well as to reflect upon the blessings that another year has brought. This year will be very different for me. My mother is not able to have visitors as the facility she lives in is under lockdown, my father will have my son and soon-to-be ex visiting him with with all the fixings, and my daughter and her family have relocated to a distant state.

Yet, I am still going to experience a bit of that Thanksgiving feast. I am cooking a turkey breast and new potatoes for myself. (Not even using the grill, LOL) Yet it is in the counting of blessings that I am enjoying this day.

I am a lucky and blessed man. I still have both my parents who I can call and talk to. I am healthy and still can outwork many half my age. I have children who even if I can't see them today, know that I am thinking of them and love them.

I may be by myself in this house, but I am not alone. I am looking forward to having a mostly traditional dinner with a virtual dinner date. She is such a wondrous woman and I know that I probably don't deserve her affection, but I am lucky enough to be able to try to be worthy of her.

This year has been one of change and uncertainty, growth and disruption, love and grief. Yet today, I give thanks for I feel like the most fortunate man on earth. Today I feel that whatever the future holds, it will be an adventure and that I will find my role in the creator's grand plan.

May all who read these simple words have a Thanksgiving day as wondrous as mine.

I know it's not the same but does the homes in your area have the tablet visits?
