Am I the only one who doesn't like Sylvia Plath's Bell Jar?

She is so self centered and self focused but in a really annoying way. I can't get myself to finish this.

There are several things you have to try and get your head around in this story.
The time. Societal attitudes to women; women's freedom of expression. Which had never had a voice before then; the writer coming to the realization that she was having a nervous breakdown; the responses of those around her and their understanding or lack therof at her writing.......it's endless !
It's no wonder it's difficult to navigate and understand.

@Picklebobble2: I understand what you're trying to say, I still think about it the way I do though. A modern version of Sylvia Plath's Bell Jar is Prozac Nation in a way, which annoyed me so much.

Also all of these things whether we like it or not are still happening now. Society still treats women like this, even if it's in a more subtle way.

@Picklebobble2: Also I didn't find difficult to understand at all to be honest. It was all very transparent.
