Well I'm south Asian. But I guess this applies to me too. Since we are more accustomed to reading English than our own mother tongue

English works perfectly for me. That's because in my country there are wayyyyyyyyy too many regional languages. English is the most preferred way to communicate to people who do not speak your regional language.

Reading in your mothers langue is always easier, an other language ore culture has always a different feeling, it's hard to get the same deep connection ore feeling with an other than your basic culture.
